A few details worth knowing
North County locations
Our standard hourly rates apply across most of San Diego County. Some North County communities start at a higher rate to fairly compensate caregivers for the additional drive time and fuel cost involved in reaching those areas. This includes neighborhoods such as Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Carlsbad, Carmel Valley, Poway, San Marcos, Rancho Santa Fe, 4S Ranch, and Oceanside.
If your community is in or near one of these areas, the higher rate may apply. Because rates depend on the specific neighborhood and shift length, we provide them by phone rather than listing them online. Call (619) 736-4677 to verify whether North County pricing applies to your address — we’ll give you your exact rate within minutes, no in-home visit required.
Short visits, couples and facility care
Many seniors value their independence and prefer not to have someone in their home for extended periods — but they still need help with meals, medication reminders, appointments, or daily check-ins.
For families balancing care needs with a loved one’s desire for privacy, we offer per-visit care for visits under four hours.
Per-visit rate (under 4 hours): $178 per visit
This rate applies whether care is provided for 1, 2, 3, or 3.5 hours. It accounts for caregiver travel, scheduling, and fair compensation for shorter shifts — while respecting your loved one’s preference for brief, focused support.
Your exact rate is always confirmed during your first call — clearly, calmly, and without pressure.
Why per-visit pricing makes sense:
Shorter visits require the same travel time and coordination as longer shifts, but with less working time for caregivers. The per-visit structure ensures fair compensation while giving your loved one the independence they value.
Visits under four hours are billed as a flat per-visit rate. Once a visit reaches four hours, standard hourly pricing applies — often providing better value for families needing extended daily care.
Couples Care (under 4 hours): $198 per visit
When one caregiver supports two people during a short visit, the rate is $198 per visit to reflect the added responsibility and care coordination involved.
When one caregiver supports two people in the same household:
An additional hourly fee applies to reflect the increased level of responsibility and care coordination.
We’ll explain this clearly during your call and confirm the exact rate before any care begins.
Care in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and memory care facilities uses the same client rate structure as care in a private home. There is no separate facility rate increase.
The location still affects how we coordinate caregiver assignments and coverage. Our team plans for:
- Caregiver staffing and safe care requirements
- Mandatory meal and rest break coverage
- Facility compliance and documentation standards
- Coordination with facility staff and protocols
Your exact rate will be confirmed during your call based on your specific care setting and schedule.
How shift length affects pricing
Shorter visits require caregivers to travel to your home for a limited number of working hours. With San Diego’s gas prices and commute times, this creates higher per-hour costs for the caregiver — which is reflected in the rate.
Longer shifts allow caregivers to spend more continuous time with your loved one while reducing repeated travel. That efficiency benefits everyone: caregivers earn more for their day, and families receive a lower hourly rate for extended care.
This isn’t a pricing strategy. It’s simply how home care works when you account for real travel costs and fair caregiver compensation.
We’ll always explain your home care pricing in San Diego clearly so you can choose the schedule that fits your family’s needs and budget.
For families needing continuous 24-hour support, we offer a daily package with two caregivers working consecutive 12-hour shifts. The quoted daily rate has no separate overtime charge.
- 24-hour home care: $1,032/day (no overtime)
Care is provided by two caregivers working consecutive 12-hour shifts. The same client pricing structure applies in private homes and facilities.
- Couples 24-hour care: $1,152/day (no overtime)
When one caregiver supports two people during 24-hour care, an additional $5 per hour applies — bringing the total to $48/hour or $1,152 per day.
Home and facility care use the same client rates. North County location adjustments, required caregiver qualifications, or additional staffing may affect your quote. Your exact daily rate is confirmed during your call.
Caregiver qualifications and staffing
Base client rates may be adjusted for required caregiver qualifications, care for two people, or additional staffing. We confirm the complete quote before care begins.
Caregivers with CNA or HHA certification can be matched at no additional cost when available. If all assigned caregivers must hold a CNA or HHA certification, an additional $5 per hour applies.

First Questions Families Ask
How do I get my exact rate?
Just call (619) 736-4677. You’ll speak with a live care coordinator who can provide your exact rate within minutes — no transfers, no voicemail, no pressure.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. We believe in complete transparency. There are no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons, and no unexpected charges. The rate we quote is the rate you’ll see in writing.
Is there a minimum number of hours required per shift?
We do not require a four-hour minimum visit. Visits under four hours have a base flat charge of $178 for one person or $198 for couples care, rather than an hourly charge.
From four to under eight hours, the base individual rate is $48/hour. For eight to twelve hours, the first eight hours are $40/hour and additional hours are billed at 1.5 times that rate. Couples care adds $5/hour to these hourly rates. Location, required qualifications and additional staffing may affect the quote.
When does per-visit pricing apply instead of hourly rates?
Per-visit pricing applies to care visits under four hours in a private home or facility. The base charge is $178 per visit for one person or $198 per visit for couples care, whether the visit lasts 1, 2, 3, or 3.5 hours.
Once a visit reaches four hours, hourly pricing applies. North County location adjustments, required caregiver qualifications, or additional staffing may affect your quote. We confirm the full rate during your first call.
Do you require a deposit to start care?
Yes. Our standard starting deposit is refundable and equals one week of scheduled care. The Office team confirms the amount and any approved alternative arrangement before care starts.
The deposit is refunded when care services end, subject to the terms of your agreement.
Understanding Your Pricing Structure
Why do shorter shifts cost more per hour?
Shorter visits require caregivers to travel to and from your home for a limited number of working hours. With San Diego commute times and fuel costs, this increases the per-hour cost of care.
Longer shifts reduce repeated travel and allow caregivers to earn more consistently throughout the day — which allows us to offer a lower hourly rate for extended care.
This isn’t a pricing tactic.
It’s simply how home care works when caregivers are paid fairly.
Do you charge higher rates for weekend care?
No. Our standard hourly rates apply seven days a week, including weekends. There are no weekend surcharges.
Do you charge more on holidays?
Yes — on certain major holidays, caregiver hours are billed at time and a half to fairly compensate caregivers who work those days.
Holiday rate applies only to the following holidays:
- New Year’s Eve (starting at 12:00 p.m.)
- New Year’s Day
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve (starting at 12:00 p.m.)
- Christmas Day
If care is scheduled on one of these holidays, we’ll always explain the rate in advance — no surprises.
Do you charge for caregiver mileage?
When a caregiver uses their own vehicle for client errands, appointments or other care-related transportation, the current Office pricing tool lists an additional $0.70 per mile.
This is separate from the caregiver’s ordinary commute to and from your home. No caregiver-vehicle mileage charge applies when the client’s vehicle is used. Split-shift travel charges require Office review. We confirm any applicable charges before care begins.

Specific Care Scenarios
Do you offer 24-hour home care?
Yes. We offer 24-hour home care for families who need continuous, around-the-clock support.
Care is provided by two caregivers working 12-hour shifts, which helps ensure attentiveness, safety, and caregiver well-being. This structure allows for consistent, reliable care without gaps.
We’ll help you determine whether 24-hour care or extended daily shifts are the best fit for your needs and budget — and explain the difference clearly before you decide.
Why is the hourly cost for 24-hour care higher if longer shifts usually cost less per hour?
Our 24-hour package uses two caregivers working consecutive 12-hour shifts and a base daily rate of $1,032 for one person or $1,152 for couples care.
Ordinary 8–12-hour shifts are quoted differently: the first 8 hours use the base hourly rate, and hours beyond 8 are billed at 1.5 times that rate. The 24-hour package instead provides one predictable daily charge, with no separate overtime charge.
Location, required qualifications, and additional staffing may affect your quote. We explain the full cost before care begins.
- Base individual package: $43/hour equivalent ($1,032/day); applicable additions are confirmed separately
- No separate overtime charges — it's already built into the daily rate
- Your full quoted rate is confirmed before care begins
- Simpler budgeting — one predictable number every day
The 24-hour package provides a predictable daily care charge. We compare it with your requested hourly schedule and confirm any location, qualification or staffing additions before you decide.
Do you offer live-in care?
In most cases, we recommend 24-hour care instead of live-in care — because it’s often the better option for families.
Live-in care typically requires paying for a caregiver’s overnight hours, even when they’re sleeping. When that cost is factored in, live-in care can be more expensive without providing the same level of alert, consistent support.
With 24-hour care:
- Care is provided by two caregivers working 12-hour shifts
- Caregivers remain fully awake and attentive
- Overtime is already built into one clear daily rate
- Families often receive better coverage at a more predictable cost
Our goal is to recommend the option that makes the most financial and practical sense — not simply offer every model available.
We’re always happy to explain the difference so you can make an informed decision.
How does pricing work if the same caregiver works a split shift?
When the same caregiver is scheduled for a split shift (for example, a morning and evening visit on the same day), travel time and mileage may apply between the shifts.
This is because California law requires employers to compensate caregivers for work-related travel time and mileage incurred between assignments during the same workday.
What this means:
- Travel time and mileage apply only between the scheduled shifts
- You are not charged for the caregiver’s initial arrival or final departure
If a split shift is part of your care plan, any applicable travel time or mileage will be explained in advance so you know exactly what to expect.
Can pricing change after care starts?
Your rate remains the same unless your schedule, location, or care needs change. If an adjustment is ever needed, it’s discussed clearly and in advance.
What's included in your hourly rate?
Your rate covers professional home care — not just caregiver hours.
What you get:
- Fully licensed agency — regulated by the state of California (The Home Care Services Bureau), not a registry
- Background-checked caregivers — DOJ/FBI clearance, references, ongoing oversight
- Careful matching — caregivers selected for your specific needs
- Full insurance coverage — workers' compensation, bonded, and liability protection
- Digital care platform — real-time scheduling, care notes, family updates
- Professional coordination — we handle call-offs, replacements, and schedule changes
- 24/7 live support — reach a real person, not voicemail or a call center
- Ongoing adjustments — care plans adapt as needs change
Your quote reflects the care schedule and staffing you need. If two caregivers must work at the same time, the quote includes both caregivers’ charges. Full-assist transfer needs require an Office assessment to confirm safe staffing and equipment.
Special Requirements & Qualifications
Do you offer certified caregivers (CNA or Home Health Aide)?
Yes. Many members of our caregiving team already hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification. When available, we’re happy to match families with these certifications at no additional cost.
If a client requires that all caregivers assigned must hold a CNA or HHA certification, an additional $5 per hour applies. This reflects the higher wages required to fairly compensate these employees, who are often in high demand by hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
We’ll always explain this clearly during your call and confirm any applicable rate adjustments before care begins — no surprises.
