Transparent Home Care Pricing

Clear pricing. Real answers. No pressure.

Finding home care shouldn’t mean chasing down answers or sitting through a sales visit to understand cost. At All Heart Home Care, we believe pricing should be transparent, fair, and easy to understand from the very beginning.

You don’t need an in-home visit just to get pricing.
You don’t need to wait for a callback.
You don’t need to sit on hold or get transferred to voicemail.
You don’t need to guess.

One call is all it takes.

Why Home Care Pricing Is Often Confusing

Many families tell us the same thing after calling around:

This is common in home care — but it doesn’t help families who are already overwhelmed and trying to make good decisions quickly.

We chose a different approach.

Our Pricing Philosophy

We designed our pricing model around three principles:

Pricing - All Heart Home Care San Diego

Clarity.

You should understand costs early, without pressure.

Fairness.

Rates reflect care needs based on shift length.

Transparency.

What we quote is what you see in writing.

That’s why we offer upfront pricing by phone and publish clear hourly ranges online. Your exact rate — including any adjustments for specific caregiver qualifications or care requirements — is always confirmed during your first call.

Our Hourly Home Care Rates

All Heart Home Care Senior And Caregiver Cooking Together

Individual Home Care

Rates begin at $37 per hour, depending on shift length.

We don’t use one flat rate for every situation. Instead, pricing is adjusted based on the length of each scheduled shift, allowing us to keep rates fair and sustainable.

Our structure:

This rewards families who need ongoing or extended care and supports caregiver consistency.

Exact rates are always provided during your first call — no in-home visit required.

Short-Duration Visits & Per-Visit Care

Many seniors value their independence and prefer not to have someone in their home for extended periods — but they still need help with meals, medication reminders, appointments, or daily check-ins.

For families balancing care needs with a loved one’s desire for privacy, we offer per-visit care for visits under four hours.

Per-visit rate (under 4 hours): $175 per visit

This rate applies whether care is provided for 1, 2, 3, or 3.5 hours. It accounts for caregiver travel, scheduling, and fair compensation for shorter shifts — while respecting your loved one’s preference for brief, focused support.

Your exact rate is always confirmed during your first call — clearly, calmly, and without pressure.

Why per-visit pricing makes sense:

Shorter visits require the same travel time and coordination as longer shifts, but with less working time for caregivers. The per-visit structure ensures fair compensation while giving your loved one the independence they value.

Visits under four hours are billed as a flat per-visit rate. Once a visit exceeds four hours, standard hourly pricing applies — often providing better value for families needing extended daily care.

Couples Care (Under 4 Hours): $195 per visit

When one caregiver supports two people during a short visit, the rate is $195 per visit to reflect the added responsibility and care coordination involved.

Couples Care

When one caregiver supports two people in the same household:

An additional hourly fee applies to reflect the increased level of responsibility and care coordination.

We’ll explain this clearly during your call and confirm the exact rate before any care begins.

Facility-Based Care

Care provided in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), hospital settings, assisted living communities, or memory care facilities is priced differently from private home care. Facility rates begin at $38 per hour, depending on shift length — just like our home care rates, longer shifts receive lower hourly rates.

This rate reflects the additional operational requirements when working within facility environments, including:

Your exact rate will be confirmed during your call based on your specific care setting and schedule.

Around-the-Clock Care

For families needing consistent daily or 24-hour support, we offer structured schedules designed for comfort, continuity, and cost efficiency. We waive your overtime fee, resulting in significant savings compared to regular hourly rates.

Care is provided by two caregivers working 12-hour shifts to ensure quality and attentiveness. This rate applies to private residences (homes, condos, townhomes).

When one caregiver supports two people during 24-hour care, an additional $5 per hour applies — bringing the total to $45/hour or $1,080 per day.

Note: Facility-based 24-hour care rates are higher due to additional compliance and operational requirements.

Longer schedules provide better hourly value while maintaining caregiver quality. Your exact rate will be confirmed during your call.

Why Shift Length Affects Pricing

Shorter visits require caregivers to travel to your home for a limited number of working hours. With San Diego’s gas prices and commute times, this creates higher per-hour costs for the caregiver — which is reflected in the rate.

Longer shifts allow caregivers to spend more continuous time with your loved one while reducing repeated travel. That efficiency benefits everyone: caregivers earn more for their day, and families receive a lower hourly rate for extended care.

Pricing - All Heart Home Care San Diego

This isn’t a pricing strategy. It’s simply how home care works when you account for real travel costs and fair caregiver compensation.

We’ll always explain your options clearly so you can choose the schedule that fits your family’s needs and budget.

How to Get Your Exact Rate

Getting started is simple:

If you choose to continue, we’ll schedule a free in-home care assessment at your convenience. But you’ll already know the rate before that ever happens.

Frequently asked questions.

First Questions Families Ask

Just call (619) 736-4677. You’ll speak with a live care coordinator who can provide your exact rate within minutes — no transfers, no voicemail, no pressure.

No. We believe in complete transparency. There are no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons, and no unexpected charges. The rate we quote is the rate you’ll see in writing.

No. We do not require minimum hours. Care can be scheduled based on what your family actually needs.

That said, shorter shifts typically have a higher hourly rate, while longer, consistent schedules receive lower hourly rates. We’ll walk you through the options so you can choose what works best for your situation.

Per-visit pricing applies to any care visit under four hours in a private home. This includes 1-, 2-, 3-, or 3.5—hour visits, all billed at $175 per visit (or $195 for couples care).

Once a visit reaches or exceeds four hours, standard hourly pricing applies, which often provides better value for families needing extended daily care.

This structure allows us to fairly compensate caregivers for travel time and scheduling coordination while giving your loved one the flexibility of brief, focused support when that’s all they need.

Yes. To begin care, we require a one-week refundable deposit, equal to one week of scheduled care. This secures your caregiver and confirms your start date.

The deposit is refunded at the termination of care services.

All deposit details are explained clearly before care begins.

Understanding Your Pricing Structure

Shorter visits require caregivers to travel to and from your home for a limited number of working hours. With San Diego commute times and fuel costs, this increases the per-hour cost of care.

Longer shifts reduce repeated travel and allow caregivers to earn more consistently throughout the day — which allows us to offer a lower hourly rate for extended care.

This isn’t a pricing tactic.
It’s simply how home care works when caregivers are paid fairly.

No. Our standard hourly rates apply seven days a week, including weekends. There are no weekend surcharges.

Yes — on certain major holidays, caregiver hours are billed at time and a half to fairly compensate caregivers who work those days.

Holiday rate applies only to the following holidays:

If care is scheduled on one of these holidays, we’ll always explain the rate in advance — no surprises.

In some situations, caregiver mileage may apply — but not for the caregiver’s commute to or from your home.

Mileage charges apply only when a caregiver drives their own vehicle on behalf of the client, such as running errands, attending appointments, or traveling between care-related locations during a shift.

If the caregiver is driving the client’s vehicle, no mileage fee is required.

California law requires employers to reimburse caregivers for work-related travel expenses. When mileage reimbursement is required, it is calculated based on the IRS standard mileage rate and passed through transparently.

If mileage applies to your care schedule, it is explained in advance and clearly reflected on your invoice — never added unexpectedly.

Specific Care Scenarios

Yes. We offer 24-hour home care for families who need continuous, around-the-clock support.

Care is provided by two caregivers working 12-hour shifts, which helps ensure attentiveness, safety, and caregiver well-being. This structure allows for consistent, reliable care without gaps.

We’ll help you determine whether 24-hour care or extended daily shifts are the best fit for your needs and budget — and explain the difference clearly before you decide.

Great question — and it comes down to overtime.

For most shifts (4, 6, or 8 hours), longer care reduces your hourly rate because caregivers work more efficiently without repeated travel.

But 24-hour care works differently. We have two caregivers, each working 12-hour shifts. At 12 hours, overtime kicks in for each caregiver, which increases the per-hour cost.

However, 24-hour care is often more cost-effective overall than paying for two separate 12-hour shifts at different base rates, plus daily fluctuating overtime charges.

Here’s why:

In short:

24-hour care gives you one clear, predictable rate with no overtime surprises — which often costs less than piecing together shifts on your own.

We’ll always walk you through the comparison so you can see which option makes the most sense for your family.

In most cases, we recommend 24-hour care instead of live-in care — because it’s often the better option for families.

Live-in care typically requires paying for a caregiver’s overnight hours, even when they’re sleeping. When that cost is factored in, live-in care can be more expensive without providing the same level of alert, consistent support.

With 24-hour care:

Our goal is to recommend the option that makes the most financial and practical sense — not simply offer every model available.

We’re always happy to explain the difference so you can make an informed decision.

When the same caregiver is scheduled for a split shift (for example, a morning and evening visit on the same day), travel time and mileage may apply between the shifts.

This is because California law requires employers to compensate caregivers for work-related travel time and mileage incurred between assignments during the same workday.

What this means:

If a split shift is part of your care plan, any applicable travel time or mileage will be explained in advance so you know exactly what to expect.

Your rate remains the same unless your schedule, location, or care needs change. If an adjustment is ever needed, it’s discussed clearly and in advance.

Your rate covers professional home care — not just caregiver hours.

What you get:

Your rate covers care, compliance, protection, and peace of mind.

Yes. Many members of our caregiving team already hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification. When available, we’re happy to match families with these certifications at no additional cost.

If a client requires that all caregivers assigned must hold a CNA or HHA certification, an additional $5 per hour applies. This reflects the higher wages required to fairly compensate these employees, who are often in high demand by hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.

We’ll always explain this clearly during your call and confirm any applicable rate adjustments before care begins — no surprises.

Additional FAQ's on Digital Home Care System

Yes. HITRUST CSF Certified security—same gold standard hospitals use. More secure than paper.

Extremely rare (99.9% uptime), but caregivers can work in offline mode if connectivity is temporarily lost. Care continues without interruption. Documentation syncs automatically when connection returns.

Caregivers document throughout their shift in real-time. Notes are typically finalized and visible in Family Room within minutes of the caregiver clocking out.

We can set up Family Room accounts for as many family members as you want—local siblings, children in other states, anyone you authorize. Everyone sees the same information. No limit on number of accounts.

Yes. Family Room includes secure document storage. Upload medical records, insurance cards, POLST forms, medication lists, doctor’s instructions, photos—anything important. All authorized family members can access these documents. No more searching for forms.

We update the digital care plan immediately, and all caregivers receive instant notification of changes. This is one of the biggest advantages over paper—updates reach everyone simultaneously, not gradually over days or weeks.

Absolutely. Family Room is a tool for families who want it, not a replacement for human connection. We’re always reachable by phone at (619) 736-4677. Many families use both—portal for quick updates, phone calls for detailed conversations.

We train every caregiver on the WellSky mobile app before their first shift. The app is intuitive—designed specifically for caregivers, not engineers. If someone can text and use GPS navigation, they can use our caregiver app. And we provide ongoing support.

Yes. The Family Room care calendar shows upcoming shifts with caregiver names and times. You’ll know exactly who’s coming and when. No more surprise caregiver switches.

Use the two-way messaging feature in Family Room. Send your message, and the caregiver receives an instant notification on their mobile app. They’ll see it and can respond or confirm receipt immediately.

Yes. All notes are searchable. Want to see every mention of “appetite” from the past month? Type it in the search bar and find all relevant notes instantly. No more flipping through pages of handwritten entries.

You can access the complete care history from the day Family Room access began. Review notes from last week, last month, or since care started. Historical data helps identify patterns over time.

Family members cannot delete caregiver documentation—that’s protected and maintained by All Heart for record-keeping purposes. You can delete your own uploaded documents, but we can often recover those if needed within a certain timeframe.

With your authorization, we can provide limited Family Room access to healthcare providers. This allows better coordination between home care and medical teams. You control exactly who has access and what they can see.

Family Room works both ways. You can access it through any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on your computer, or download the mobile app for easier access on your phone or tablet. Your choice.

All authorized Family Room users see the same care information—we can’t create different access levels for different family members. However, you (as the primary contact) control who gets Family Room access in the first place. If family dynamics are challenging, you decide who receives login credentials.

The messaging system shows when messages are delivered and read. You’ll see confirmation that the caregiver received and opened your message. For critical information, you can also call our office to ensure the message was received.

Yes. You can print individual shift notes, date ranges, or specific types of documentation (like Change of Condition reports) directly from Family Room. Useful for doctor appointments or insurance purposes.

If your loved one transitions to hospice, hospital, or another care setting, we can maintain your Family Room access for a transition period so you have complete records. After care ends, we provide a final data export if requested, then access is closed according to your wishes and legal requirements.

Yes. Family Room is accessible from anywhere with internet connection. If you’re traveling abroad, you can still check on your loved one’s care. The system works globally.

Family Room doesn’t support selective information sharing—all authorized users see the same care documentation. For private family communications, you’d need to use personal email, phone, or text outside the Family Room system.

Change of Condition reports automatically alert you when caregivers document significant health changes. For custom alerts (like specific behaviors or situations), talk to our office—we may be able to add special flags to your loved one’s care plan that trigger notifications.

We typically set up Family Room access during your initial care planning meeting, before the first caregiver shift. You’ll have login credentials and a brief tutorial on how to use the portal. Most families are viewing their first shift notes within 24 hours of care beginning.

Additional Important Information

This comprehensive information ensures every caregiver provides consistent, personalized care from day one.

Tracking health changes that matter.

The Change of Condition form documents significant shifts in your loved one’s health—new symptoms, changes in mobility, behavioral differences, or improvements in their condition. This isn’t about minor day-to-day variations; it’s about meaningful changes that physicians, families, and caregivers need to know about.

Why have a separate form for this?

Instead of searching through weeks of caregiver narratives to find when symptoms started or conditions changed, this form puts all significant health changes in one easy-to-reference place. When doctors ask “when did the difficulty walking begin?” or family members want to understand the progression of a condition, you’ll have clear, dated documentation right at your fingertips.

What gets documented:

Each entry includes:

Why this form matters:

Early detection changes outcomes. When caregivers notice something different—increased confusion, difficulty walking, loss of appetite, or even positive improvements like better mobility—documenting it immediately allows for faster responses.

Your family stays informed about meaningful health changes. Physicians receive accurate updates during appointments instead of relying on memory. Incoming caregivers know exactly what’s changed and what new precautions or assistance your loved one needs.

One form. Complete health timeline. Better care.

Whether tracking a temporary change after a fall or documenting the progression of a chronic condition, the Change of Condition form creates a clear health timeline. This helps everyone—doctors, family members, and our San Diego caregiver team—understand how your loved one’s needs are evolving and respond appropriately.

Proactive monitoring isn’t just good practice. It’s essential senior care.

How the Caregiver Narrative works.

Each caregiver documents their shift using a simple timeline format that captures the essential details of your loved one’s day. This structured approach ensures consistency across all caregivers and makes information easy to find.

What we document in every narrative:

Narrative Format:

Each entry follows this structure:

Why this format works:

This timeline approach provides clear, chronological documentation that’s easy for incoming caregivers to read and understand. Instead of wondering what happened during the previous shift, they can see exactly what your loved one ate, how they felt, what activities they enjoyed, and any health changes observed.

One record. Every shift. Complete continuity.

Whether care is short-term, long-term, or evolving, the Caregiver Narrative ensures nothing gets missed and nothing gets repeated. Your family can review the journal at any time during visits, or we can share photos of recent narratives with long-distance family members who want to stay connected and informed.

Complete transparency and peace of mind, right when you need it.
